One ball usually covers a cardigan up to about 12 months. A fingering-weight baby cardigan typically uses 300–550 m depending on size and sleeve length, and each 100 g ball holds 600 m. For sizes 2–4 years, or a matching hat and booties, plan on a second ball from the same dye lot.

Can Cotton Soft be used on a knitting machine?

Yes. Its fine, even strand and 600 m per 100 g suit standard-gauge domestic knitting machines as well as hand knitting. Test a swatch at a few tension settings, wash and dry it, then measure before starting a garment, since cotton blends can relax after their first wash.

Is YarnArt Cotton Soft safe for babies?

Yes. Cotton Soft is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified and contains no wool: 55% cotton for breathability and 45% acrylic for softness and shape. Its fine gauge makes light layers for newborns, summer rompers and lacy blankets. Sew buttons on firmly and avoid long cords on anything for small babies.

YarnArt Cotton Soft vs YarnArt Flowers – same yarn?

They share the 55% cotton, 45% acrylic blend, but Cotton Soft is finer, with 600 m per 100 g in regular balls. YarnArt Flowers is a gradient cake with 1000 m per 250 g, or 400 m per 100 g, so it knits up slightly thicker. Swatch both before combining them in one project.
